SHARJAH, 29th December, 2016 (WAM) — In an effort to boost awareness, raise knowledge of the benefits of early detection and help dispel numerous myths surrounding breast cancer, Pink Caravan is organising a ‘Pink Caravan Children’s Ride’, on Friday, 10th March, 2017, at Desert Palm Dubai.
The horse ride is the main focus of the event and is open to both children and adults, participating with their own horses. All riders will need to pre-register via the online application.
The approximately 6 km ride will end at a finish line decorated with a multitude of pink balloons. Students from Dubai Riding for the Disabled will ride a 1.5.km route.
“The youth’s eagerness to contribute to and support the Pink Caravan Ride has witnessed a tremendous increase in the past six years. We believe there is no better way to prevent the occurrence of the disease and mitigate the social taboos and suffering that come with it than sensitising future generations about the risks and remedies of cancer from an early age,” said Lize De Jonge, Programme Manager of Pink Caravan Ride.
“To this end, we are organising a horse riding event for both young and adult participants in collaboration with Desert Palm, along with clinical examinations and other activities, because we are always eager to work with and encourage the youth to take the lead for great causes,” she added.
The young participants will have access to numerous other activities on this fun day. A bouncy castle, face painting, photo wall and petting zoo are some of the attractions. A Pink Caravan medical team will also be stationed at the venue to conduct awareness lectures for the public.
Parking for horse boxes and trailers will be arranged for at the Desert Palm riding stable. The event will take place from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and all riders will receive rosettes from the Pink Caravan.
